New Collection Server Is On-Line →
Several updates are due as the new semester has begun. We will fill them in bit by bit. The first is that we have now set up the new collections server which is being populated with the Specify database and the invertebrate collection website. Both still need work but things are moving forward. The URL is http://invcol.uprm.edu/.

International Colloquium on Biodiversity and...
On November 8-9, I participated as an invited speaker in the International Colloquium on Biodiversity, Taxonomy and Systematics in the 21st Century, sponsored by the Instituto de Biología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Second trip to Las Cucharas (night collecting)
On Thursday the Insect Morphology graduate course visited Las Cucharas once more to collect large bugs for the dissecting practices. Unfortunately there are no photos available, since we went at night (and also got viciously attacked by mosquitoes). Nevertheless the collecting was productive again, particularly for entimine weevils (with probably close to 10 species overall).
