On Thursday, March 3rd, Andrés, Augusto and Nico went on a first “post winter” collecting trip to the Maricao Forest (Route 120, trail entering at km 14.8). The forest is known for its high diversity of cryptorhynchine and other weevils - a true Puerto Rican insect diversity hotspot! The vegetation was surprisingly lush for March, and evidently a lot of insects were chewing away on the leaves.
